Cambridge Completes Colombian Regional Helicopter Training Center Program Nationalization and Continues Pilot Training
Over the past month, Cambridge completed the nationalization of the Colombian Regional Helicopter Training Center (RHTC) Support Services program. As part of this program Cambridge has been providing helicopter maintenance, instructor pilot standardization, maintenance training, logistics, and airframe transition support to the Colombian Military (COLMIL). Cambridge leveraged our extensive counter narcotics (CN) mission experience, CN-specific aviation experience, in-country logistics capability, and in-country resources to help position the COLMIL to manage the RHTC mission responsibilities in accordance with their nationalization timeline.
“The nationalization of RHTC program marks a major milestone in our mission to assist partner nations in developing their own security capacities and demonstrates the success of the long-standing partnership between the U.S. and Colombia, a key part of which has been U.S. assistance to the Colombian Aviation Program. We are proud to have supported the Colombian Military in building up their national helicopter maintenance, logistics, and training capabilities and are confident that these new in-country capabilities will prove efficient and effective in supporting the Colombian counter narcotics program which plays a critical role in both U.S. and Colombian national security.” said Cambridge Senior Director, Liz Germanos Buker.
Cambridge will continue to support SOUTHCOM and Colombia’s aviation training through training facility construction and setup; lesson planning; training material development; and in-person instruction. You can read more about SOUTHCOM’s initiative here.
